To determine a change of elevation on a topographic map what type of math would you use?

An easy to remember equation for finding change in elevation as a decimal is rise over run.. as an example, let’s say the rise is 2 and the run is 6.. so you take 2 over 6 (or2/6) and divide .. so you’re answer is division my friend hope this helps
