Hammurabi was one of the most important leaders of the Old Babylonian Empire. He ruled in the 18th Century BC. He ruled a vast Empire that stretched from Persian Gulf to the city of Mari. Still, his largest contribution was the introduction of his Code, a first written law in the history of mankind. Although, in comparison with the modern laws it can be consider as a cruel law, it still arranged certain changes in the society.
