A telephone company offers two different types of billing. The first choice is to pay $10.00 per month plus $0.09 per MB of data. The second choice is to pay $16.00 per month plus $0.07 per MB of data.

How many MB of data would you have to use in one month in order for both plans to cost the same amount? Explain how you determined your answer.

Answer:

0.09x +10 is the first choice

0.07x +16 is the second choice (set the two data plans equal to each other)

0.09x +10 = 0.07x +16 (subtract 0.07x from both sides)

0.02x +10 = 16 (subtract 10 from both sides)

0.02x = 6 (divide both sides b 0.02 to isolate x)

x= 300 MB of data (the answer)

Explanation:

I hope this helps :))
