WBC (white blood cell) count signifies the number of white blood cells in the blood and usually ranges between 4,300 and 10,800 cells per cubic millimeter (cmm). RBC (red blood cell) count measures the number of red blood cells in a volume of blood and usually ranges between 4.2 to 5.9 million cells per cmm.

1. They are red color due to presence of haemoglobin.

2. They are smaller in size (7.5µ), biconcave and non-nucleated

3. They are immobile.

4. They are produced in red bone marrow.

5. They transport oxygen and carbon dioxide

WBC / :Leukocyte

1. They are colourless due to absence of haemoglobin

2. They are larger in size (15µ) irregular and nucleated.

3. They leave the blood vessels and move to the injury site (diapedesis).

4. They are produced in lymph nodes, spleen, etc

5. They defend the body from attack of germs.
