Explanation:

First identify what is the basic function. It is x^2.

Next you see that it isn't at the (0,0) point in the center, but it is to the left by 5 places. This means it was translated to the left by 5 units, to write that you use positive sign inside the parenthesis so (x+5)^2.

Then it is moved up by 1, so it is +1.

the function increases from (-5 to infinity) and decreases from negative infinity to -5). We don't use [ or ] because -5 is neither increasing or decreasing.
