3(x+4.5x)=36

we can use the distributive property and get


3(x)+3(4.5x)=36\\\\3x+13.5x=36\\\\

and we can add like terms


(3+13.5)x=36\\\\16.5x=36

and know we divide both sides by 16.5


16.5x*((1)/(16.5))=36*((1)/(16.5))\\\\x=(36)/(16.5)

and doing the dvision we get that


x\approx 2.18
