A trellis is a system of overlapping wooden slats
created for a vegetable or flower vine to grow on.
What must be the value of x so that the two slats will
be parallel? What is the angle measure at that
location? Show and explain all work using
mathematical language.

Angles are equal as they are corresponding

  • 3x+48=6x-36
  • x+16=2x-12
  • 28=x

Angle :-

  • 3(28)+48
  • 132°

Answer:

  • x = 28
  • 132°

Explanation:

The two marked angles must have same value as corresponding angles:

  • 3x + 48 = 6x - 36
  • 6x - 3x = 48 + 36
  • 3x = 84
  • x = 28

The angle measure:

  • 3*28 + 48 = 132°
