Tom is a rich and abusive man. He has a tendency to be violent, arrogant and does not mind going over those who try to block his way. George, on the other hand, is a poor man, but very honorable and kind, he has no violent tendencies, is cooperative and patient, easygoing, admirable.

The similarity between these two very different men is established in terms of how they are dedicated and influenced by the wives they have. In addition, both are betrayed by their wives and are very sad about it, as they do not want to break up the marriage.
