Explanation:

"Isosceles" means that the triangle has two equal sides. It is quite symmetrical. If we draw in the height, the base will be cut right in half by it. See image.

First use area formula:

A = 1/2bh

to find the measure of the height (Area and base were both given)

Then use the Pythagorean Theorem to solve for the hypotenuse, which is the side of the triangle. See image.
