The area of the walls to be color washed is 190 square meters

Explanation:

Firstly, we calculate the area of the room it self

The room is cuboidal in shape given its measurement

So the area is 2(lb + lh + bh)

That will be ;

2(7(6.5) + 6.5(4) + 7(4))

= 2(45.5 + 26 + 28)

= 2(99.5) = 199 square meters

Now, the area of the walls is the total room area minus the area of the windows and doors

Area of the door is = 3 * 1 = 3 square meters

Area of 1 window is 2 * 1 = 2 square meters

Area of the 3 windows is 3 * 2 square meters = 6 square meters

We add this to the area of the door

That will be 6 + 3 = 9 square meters

So the area of the wall to be color washed will be

199 square meters - 9 square meters = 190 square meters
