f(x)=x^2


h(x)=(x+5)^2

To find:

The graph of h(x) using the graph of f(x).

Solution:

We have,


f(x)=x^2

It a parent quadratic function. The graph of this function is an upward parabola with vertex at origin, i.e., (0,0).

Now,


h(x)=(x+5)^2

It can be written as


h(x)=f(x+5)
[\because f(x)=x^2]

It means, the graph of f(x) shifted 5 units left to get the graph of h(x)

Therefore, the graph of both functions are shown below.
