Answer:

M; BM = 49

Explanation:

The vertical mark between A and M and the vertical mark between M and B show that segments Am and MB are congruent. That makes point M the bisector of segment AB.

The two segments AM and MB are congruent, so their lengths are equal.

4x + 1 = 7x - 35

Subtract 7x from both sides.

-3x + 1 = -35

Subtract 1 from both sides.

-3x = -36

Divide both sides by -3.

x = 12

BM = 7x - 35 = 7(12) - 35 = 84 - 35 = 49

Answer: M; BM = 49

I believe you solved for x, but did not plug it back into 7x-35 to get that segment’s length. The correct answer is 49.
