The are of the square is 3*3 = 9

Since we have two squares we need to mulitply by 2

9*2 = 18 is the total area of the squares

if you draw a line from the one square to the other you make a rectangle in the middle

the are of the rectangle is 10*3 which is 30

Two triangle has appared as we draw the line from one square to the other square.

The height of the traingle is (7 - 3)/2 which is 2

(2*10) / 2 = which is 10

Since we have 2 triangle we get result as 2*10 = 20

20+30+18 = 68
