6CO₂+6H₂O-->C₆H₁₂O₆+6O₂

Photosyntheis is the process used by autothropic plants and cyanobacteria to convert light energy into chemical energy stored in the bonds of glucose.

It occurs in two phases

1.Light dependent reaction where sun energy is absorbed and stored in ATP and NADPH and O₂ is produced.It occurs in the thylakoid membrane of the chloroplast.

2.Light independent reactions(Calvin Cycle) where CO₂ is fixated using the energy in ATP and NADPH produced in the light dependent reaction. This process occurs in the stroma of the chloroplast.
