A truck traveling 45 miles per hour and a train traveling 60 miles per hour cocer the same distance. The truck travels 2 hours longer than the train. How many hours does the each travel? What equation would represent the total distance traveled by both the train and the truck?

60x = 45x + 90

Truck speed = 45 mph

Let distance covered = d

Let travel time of train = x

Travel time of truck = x + 2

Total distance traveled :

Distance = speed * time

Train distance = truck distance

60 * x = (45 * (x + 2))

60x = 45x + 90

60x - 45x = 90

15x = 90

x = 90/15

x = 6

Train time = 6 hours

Truck time = 6 + 2 = 8 hours
