Put any value of x to the equation of the function and calculate y.

y = 2x - 1

for x = -2 → y = 2(-2) - 1 = -4 - 1 = -5 → (-2, -5)

for x = -1 → y = 2(-1) - 1 = -2 - 1 = -3 → (-1, -3)

for x = 0 → y = 2(0) - 1 = 0 - 1 = -1 → (0, -1)

for x = 1 → y = 2(1) - 1 = 2 - 1 = 1 → (1, 1)

for x = 2 → y = 2(2) - 1 = 4 - 1 = 3 → (2, 3)

Answer: (-2,-5); (-1,-3); (0,-1); (1, 1); (2; 3)

Set the x value to be -2, -1, 0, 1, and 2.

If x is -2, y is -5.

2 (-2) - 1 = -5

The coordinate pair would be (-2, -5).

If x is -1, y is -3.

2 (-1) - 1 = -3

The coordinate pair would be (-1, -3).

If x is 0, y is -1.

2 (0) - 1 = -1

The coordinate pair would be (0, -1).

If x is 1, y is 1.

2 (1) - 1 = -1

The coordinate pair would be (1, 1).

If x is 2, y is 3.

2 (2) - 1 = 3

The coordinate pair would be (2, 3).

Five ordered pairs could be (-2,-5), (-1,-3), (0,-1), (1,1), and (2,3).
