We have ratio A:B:C

Rs.555 was to be divided among A, B and C in the ratio of 1/4:1/5:1/6.

Hence, Sum of the proportion = 1/4 + 1/5 + 1/6

= 37/60

Hence:

The share of C initially = 1/6/37/60× 555

1/6 ÷ 37/60 × 555

1/6 × 60/37 × 555

= 150

For the by mistake ratio:

But by mistake it was divided in the ratio 4:5:6.

Sum of proportion = 4 + 5+ 6

= 15

Amount received by C = 6/15 × 555

= 222

The amount in excess received by C is calculated as:

222 - 150

= 72
