How dose the brain processes information from

The brain recieves information from stimuli through different ascendent tracts like spino-thalamic, Goll/Burdach etc. The electric impules from different stimuli reach the cerebral cortex in their area. For example acoustic information is projected in the superior gyrus of the temporal lobe, visual information in projected in around the calcarine fissure in the occipital lobe. Those information are processed in the neocortex in association areas. Those areas contain fibers that connect different lobes from the same hemisphere. For example 70% of the cerebral cortex processes information related to sight. Impulses from specific sensory areas of the brain can reach the 11th area of Brodmann(prefrontal cortex) where higher cerebral function takes place.
