6x-4=5x+8

Solve the equation. For the easier way, move the x-term to the same term and constant to the same side.


6x-5x=8+4\\x=12

Because we can solve the value of x. Therefore, the following equation has one solution.

Here's the thing that you should know for the solutions of equations.

When the equation is true (When both sides are the same Ex. 1 = 1, the solution will be infinite.)

When the equation is false (When both sides have different value. Ex. 0 = 3 then there won't be any solutions.)
