Given:

The table represents a linear function.

To find:

The y-intercept, slope and equation of linear function.

Solution:

Consider any two points from the given table, i.e., (0,-5) and (1,-1).

Equation of line is

y-y_1=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)(x-x_1)

y-(-5)=(-1-(-5))/(1-0)(x-0)

y+5=(-1+5)/(1)(x)

y+5=4x

Subtracting 5 from both sides, we get

y=4x-5

On comparing this equation with slope intercept form
y=mx+b, where, m is slope and y-intercept is b, we get

m=4,=-5

Therefore, y-intercept is -5, slope is 4 and equation is
y=4x-5.
