Identify an equation in point-slope form for the line parallel to y =-2/3x+8 that

passes through (4,-5).

first find the slope (which is -2/3)

then plug into point-slope formula using the coordinates. if you dont remember point-slope is “y-y1 = m (x-x1) where y1 being the y of the coordinate while x1 being the x of the coordinate and m being the slope.

plug it in to get “y+5 = -2/3 (x-4)

that’s the point-slope form
