Solve the following system of equations:
x - 2y = 14
x + 3y = 9

Explanation:

x - 2y = 14

x + 3y =9

Add 2y to both sides

x = 14 +2y

Substitute this into the second equation and solve

14 + 2y + 3y = 9

5y = 9 - 14 = -5

5y = -5

y = - 1

(you don't need to do this step because there is only one equation with y=-1, but just in case...)

Plug y into the first equation:

x - 2(-1) = 14

x - (-2)= x+2

x + 2 =14

x =12

Therefore, the answer is (12, -1)

The answer is C
