Answer:

x= -2, y= -7

Explanation:

(Solve for y)

-3x+y=-1

1. add 3x to both sides

y=3x-1

(Substitute y=3x-1 into 2x-3y=17)

1. 2x-3(3x-1)=17

2.Simply it (Distributive Property)

3. -7x+3=13

(Solve for x)

1. Subtract 3 from both sides

2. Divide both sides by -7

3. x=-2

(Substitute x=-2 into y=3x-1)

1. y= 3 x -2-1

2. y= -7

Therefore ,

x= -2

and

y= -7
