  • Let the smaller number be x and the bigger number be y.
  • Therefore, 3x = 2y
    = > x = (2y)/(3)
    x + y = 30 \\ = > (2y)/(3) + y = 30 \\ = > (2y + 3y)/(3) = 30 \\ = > (5y)/(3) = 30 \\ = > y = (30 * 3)/(5) \\ = > y = 18
  • Therefore, the smaller number = 30 - 18 = 12

Answers:
