My 8-digit passcode for internet banking is made up of: my favorite number; followed by double my favorite number, plus four; followed by half of my favorite number, minus three; followed by triple my favorite number, plus five. All eight digits are different.

The first number of my passcode is 3. What is my full passcode?

Answer:

uh... look at work

Step-by-step explanation:

36101.5 -15914

3

3*2

6+4

3/2 = 1.5

1.5 - 3 = -1.5

3 * 3 = 9

9 + 5 = 14

Conclusion; this is indeed not possible.

But if I continue it in the different way then:

361052611

3

3 * 2 = 6

6 + 4 = 10

10/2 = 5

5 - 3 = 2

2 * 3 = 6

6 + 5 = 11

Once again... no.

I must assume your favorite number is 3 since it is the first number and is listed as the first, also there are some decimals if I do it the way I am told. I could try to solve it in another way which would be logical but that would require using both the Sum, Quotient, or Product of an answer AND using the original number (3) again. Sooooooo based on wording... it isn't possible.
