Explain the difference between the questions ¿Cómo está Raúl? and ¿Cómo es Raúl?

The difference between ¿Como está Raúl? and ¿Como es Raúl? is that ‘cómo está Raúl’ is asking how Raúl is doing but with ‘como es Raúl’ your asking how Raúl looks in a way. The second phrase can mean how Raul is doing but it’s just not phrased the way it’s supposed to be. Hope this helps ¡’
