Given :

The height of a building is 1417 ft.

To Find :

How long would it take an object to fall to the ground from the top.

( Use the formula s = 16t² where s is the distance, in feet traveled by an object falling freely from rest in seconds. )

Solution :

Putting value of height in given equation, we get :

16t^2 = 1417\\\\t^2 = (1417)/(16)\\\\t^2 = 88.5625\\\\t = √(88.5625)\\\\t = 9.41 \ seconds

Therefore, time taken by object to reach the ground is 9.41 seconds.
