can i use maison and appartement interchangeably cuz i dont want to be saying appartement like every other sentence but i also think my teacher would read maison as a literal single house and get confused

Hello
Une maison as you know it’s just a single house
Un appartement as you know it’s like a hotel , with several room in there .
Then do what you want but don’t forget it’s not the same thing .
