Read from excerpt from text:

I simply wish to refuse allegiance to the State, to withdraw and stand aloof from it
effectually. I do not care to trace the course of my dollar, if I could, till it buys a man a
musket to shoot one with the dollar is innocent - but I am concerned to trace the
effects of my allegiance.

Which of the following conclusions can be drawn from this excerpt?

Thoreau does not care what the government does with his tax money once he has paid it.

Thoreau wants the government to know it does not have his support to carry out actions he
feels are unjust or immoral.

Thoreau believes that he can tell the government exactly how he wants his tax money to be
spent.

Thoreau has not paid taxes for a number of years and is thinking of leaving the country to
give his allegiance to another.

The answer is, “Thoreau has not paid braces for a number of years and is thinking of leaving the country to give his allegiance to another.”

Thoreau states that he refuses to allegiance to the state withdraw. So this mean that he didn’t pay his taxes.
