Answer: C) Neither positive nor negative -- the sum is zero

Adding any positive number to its negative counterpart always leads to 0.

We could come up with a story problem where a person has $37 in their bank account, and then they take out $37 which is represented with the negative number. This leads the balance to become 37+(-37) = 37-37 = 0 dollars.
