Janet bought some markers for $3 each, and a notebook for $5. Janet did not spend more than $17. Which inequality can be used to find y, the number of markers that Janet could have bought?

3y+5≤17

Explanation:

Well we know she brought 1 note book and each note book is $5, its +5

Now we know she brought Y markers and each marker cost $3 so its 3Y

Now we know the price is no more than 17 which means she could’ve spent 17 or less tha, no more then 17 so less than or equal to sign ≤17

Now combine them

3y+5≤17

Thats the equation
