Verizon offers a cell phone plan where customers buy a cell phone for $300 and pay a monthly fee of $40. T- Mobile offers a cell phone plan where customers buy a cell phone for $200 and a monthly rent of $60. Write the equation needed to find the number of months a customer would have to own a cell phone in order for the two cell phone companies to be equal. PLEASE ANSWER QUICKLY. need help!!!

Explanation:

Given that:

Cost of cell phone at Verizon = $300

Monthly fee = $40

Let,

x be the number of months

V(x) = 40x + 300

Cost of cell phone at T-mobile = $200

Monthly fee = $60

T(x) = 60x + 200

For equal amount of money,

V(x) = T(x)

40x+300=60x+200

300-200=60x-40x

100=20x

20x=100

Dividing both sides by 20


(20x)/(20)=(100)/(20)\\x=5

Hence,

A customer would have to own a cell phone for 5 months in order for the two companies to be equal.
