ANSWER: Most of the time, stretching is okay, but in the instance that you are feeling any pain, or you just came out of an intense workout and are feeling pain or any sharpness, refrain from stretching. When their are muscle strains, ligament tears, or sprains, you should also refrain from doing stretches, because stretching causes tension which will not be helpful on an injured limb.
