Registration fee = $15

Additional fee = $6 for each class

Number of classes that Jose can afford.

Solution:

Let x be the number of classes that Jose can afford.

Additional fee for 1 class = $6

Additional fee for x classes = $6x

Total fee = Registration fee + Additional fee for x classes


75=15+6x


75-15=6x


60=6x

Divide both sides by 6.


10=x

Therefore, the required equation is
75=15+6x and the number of classes he can afford is 10.
