Answer is a= -5
Reason
Distribute multiply parentheses first
-3(a-8) +4a= -8(a+3)+3
-3a +24 +4a = -8a -24 +3
Now combine like terms to isolate “a”
-3a +4a +8a = -24 +3 -24
9a = -45
Now divide both sides by 9 to solve for “a”
a= -5
