Given:

A line passes through two points are (3,1) and (7,-7).

To find:

The equation of the line.

Solution:

The line passes through two points are (3,1) and (7,-7). So, the equation of line is

y-y_1=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)(x-x_1)

y-1=(-7-1)/(7-3)(x-3)

y-1=(-8)/(4)(x-3)

y-1=-2(x-3)

Using distributive property, we get

y-1=-2(x)-2(-3)

y-1=-2x+6

Adding 1 on both sides, we get

y=-2x+6+1

y=-2x+7

Therefore, the equation of line is
y=-2x+7. So, the missing values are -2 and 7 respectively.
