Factor out a common factor to write an equivalent expression for 3x + 18.

You would divided both sides by 3 and 1x would equal 6

3(x+6)

Explanation:

You first would need to rewrite 18 as 3×6

=3x+3×6

then factor out common term 3

=3(x+6)
