Write the slope intercept form of a line going through

the point (2,-5) that is perpendicular to y = 2x + 1.

Perpendicular = opposite sign and reciprocal slope
Slope 2 turns into -1/2
Y = -1/2x + b
Plug in the point
-5 = -1/2(2) + b, b = -4
Solution: y = -1/2x - 4
