45-x = amount of 3% milk ...amount of fat = .03 (45-x)

Amount of fat in final mix of 45 quarts = .04 (45)

Inputs = output

.06x + .03(45-x) = .04(45)

.06x + 1.35 - .03x = 1.8

.03x = .45

x = 15 quarts of 6% then 30 quarts of 3%
