What would likely happen if a lion's prey wasn't available?

Answer:

It takes around to weeks for a lion to starve, or become starving. Lionesses do most of the hunting, lions are much lazier. When a lion begins to starve it will kill nearly anything to satiate it's hunger. A lot of like other creatures and predators in the wild.
