Answer:

= 30m

Explanation:

to find the length of the fence, find the perimeter of the triangle.

that is b + h + hyp assuming b is the base, h is height and hyp is hypotenuse.

we have the base; height and hypotenuse are not given.

to get the height,

area(A) = 30m2

base(B) = 12m

height(H) = ?

A = 0.5 x B x H

30m2 = 0.5 x 12m x H

30m2 = 6m x L

H = 30m2 / 6m

H = 5m

to get the hypotenuse,

we have to complete the Pythagorean family the base ,12, and height, 5. is in.

formula = a2 + b2 = c2, c is the hypotenuse, a and b can be interchanged either way with base and height.

= (12 x 12) + ( 5 x 5) = c2

= 144 + 25 = c2

= 169 = c2

c2 = 169

c = 13

perimeter = b + h + hyp

= 5 +12 + 13

= 30m
