A boy scout troop is selling bags of popcorn and boxes of cookies to fund their troops next trip. The popcorn sells for 10 dollars a bag and the cookies sell for 5 dollars a box. The troop sells 32 items and makes 210 dollars. Write a system that could be used to determine how much popcorn and cookies the troop sold.

5c + 10p = 210

Cost of popcorn per bag = $10

Cost of. Cookies per box = $5

Total items sold = 32

Total.amout made = $210

Let number of cookies = c ; number of popcorn = p

c + p = 32

5c + 10p = 210

c = 32 - p

5(32 - p) + 10p = 210

160 - 5p + 10p = 210

5p = 50

p = 10

c = 32 - p

c = 32 - 10

c = 22
