Imagine a metal cooking pan with a wooden handle is placed into a 200 °c oven.
Which material (wood or metal) would reach thermal equilibrium most rapidly? Why?

The pan because it is directly on there to absorb heat while the handle is there more towards the end and will have heat reaching the start of the handle while the metal is already hot
