Height of the wall (opposite) = 22 feet

Bottom of the ladder from the wall (adjacent) = 8 feet

What is the length of the ladder?

Length of the ladder (hypotenuse)

Using Pythagoras theorem

Hypotenuse ² = opposite ² + adjacent ²

= 22² + 8²

= 484 + 64

= 548

Hypotenuse ² = 548

Hypotenuse = √548

= 23.41 feet

The length of the ladder is 23.41 feet
