James works in a flower shop. He will put 60 tulips in vases for a wedding. He must use the same number of tulips in each vase. The number of tulips in each vase must be greater than 1 and less than 10. How many tulips could be in each vase?

Answer:

• if he has 30 vases, he would be able to put two tulips in each

• if he has 20 vases, he would be able to put three tulips in each

• if he has 15 vases, he would be able to put four tulips in each

if he has 12 vases, he would be able to put 5 tulips in each

if he has 10 vases, he would be able to put 6 tulips in each

Explanation:

The number of tulips in each vase has to be multiples of 60

Multiples of 60 = 1 ,2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 15, 20, 30 ,60

The question states that the number of flowers have to be greater than 1 and less than 10 so there can only be 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 in each verse
