The secant- secant angle CAD is half the difference of the intercepted arcs, that is


(1)/(2) ( CD - BE ) = 20 ( multiply both sides by 2 )

CD - BE = 40 , substitute values

3x + 10 - 2x - 8 = 40

x + 2 = 40 ( subtract 2 from both sides )

x = 38

Thus

arc CD = 3x + 10 = 3(38) + 10 = 114 + 10 = 124° → e
