foot windows on the wall. How much wall was left over after he cut out the windows?

∵ The dimensions of each window are 8-foot by 4-foot

∴ l = 8 feet and w = 4 feet

→ By using the rule above find the area of each window

∵ A = 8 × 4

∴ A = 32 feet²

The area of each window = 32 feet²

∵ He cut 2 windows

∴ The area of the 2 windows = 2 × 32

The area of the 2 windows = 64 feet²

∵ The area of the wall is 80 feet²

→ To find the area of the wall left, subtract the area of the windows from

the area of the wall

∵ The area left = 80 - 64

The area left = 16 feet²
