The value of y when x=4 if there is a direct relationship is 96.

What is the value of y?

y = k × x²

Where,

k = constant of proportionality

When y= 24, x= 2

y = k × x²

24 = k × 2²

24 = k × 4

24 = 4k

Divide both sides by 4

k = 24/4

k = 6

Therefore, y when x=4

y = k × x²

= 6 × 4²

= 6 × 16

y = 96
