The following are the last 10 run scores Colin got in cricket :

7, 16, 12, 34, 1, 20, 7, 2, 10, 1

a) work out collins mean score.
b) collin plays cricket again on Sunday. He gets 22 runs. What is his new mean score?

can someone please answer those two questions because i really am struggling, thank you !

Explanation:

a.) 1, 1, 2, 7, 7, 10, 12, 16, 20, 34

Since 7 and 10 are tied in the middle, then we need to find a number in the middle of the two.

8.5 is in the middle of 7 and 10, therefore 8.5 is the mean.

b.) We need to do the same thing we did before, except add 22 to it's directed place:

1, 1, 2, 7, 7, 10, 12, 16, 20, 22, 34

Since 10 is in the middle, 10 is the new mean.
