subtract the numbers |2x-3|=16

use absolute value (rewrite the absolute value 2x-3=16

2x-3=16 move constant to the right

2x=16+3 add the numbers

2x=19 divide both sides by 2

x=19/2

same steps with with second one

2x-2= -16

2x= -16 +3 move constant to the right change sign and add

2x= -13 divide both sides by two
